Welcome to my blog! My name is Clive Strong. I’ve been reading a number of blogs over the years as well as posting on forums.

I started using SQL Server in 1999, first using SQL Server 7 and since then SQL Server 2000, 2005 & 2008. Specialising in design, index tuning, performance tuning, high availability, t-sql.

While there are many great blogs out there focused on SQL Server, I hope that I can also provide some good content for you all to read.

I’m currently employed as a Database Architect for CMA (www.cmavision.com), a financial software house based in London. I’ve been in this position since August 2007. I started out as the Database Administrator, but my role somewhat shifted throughout 2010 into more of an Architect role. It’s been an interesting journey and has allowed me to fully take control of the database architecture and develop the backend in my own style. The production environment has grown from approximately 150GB in size and servicing about 50,000 E-Mails per day to 2.7TB in size and upto 1.6m E-Mails per day.

Prior to this I have worked for Virgin Media, Centrom plc and Kingston Technology Europe Ltd, all as a Database Administrator (aside from Kingston where I was also developing applications using Visual Basic).
